Role Overview

The Content Curator / Editor is responsible for identifying the most compelling magazine articles and stories for daily publishing to our subscribers. The materials will be presented via our Featured Articles stream within the Readly service, and requires experience in digital campaign management, identification of publishing client trends/behaviours, and strategy development for best release time of content to drive engagement. Success in this role will be measured by notable increase in readership and dwell time, as well as demand/access for more content from our subscribers. Reporting to the Content Team Head of Content Operations, you will shaping the methodology for the selection of content in all of our upcoming features and initiatives. You must be as comfortable working high level as well as hands on.

Key Responsibilities

As the Content Team’s Curator / Editor, you are able to:

  • Review and understand all of the popular events and occasions coming throughout the year.
  • Understand the content available on the Readly platform.
  • Run workshops to generate ideas and increase the attractiveness of the product
  • Build a schedule of articles to be released.
  • Ensure that articles are converted in a timely manner and meet minimum quality standards.
  • Monitor and report on the successes and failures of the content strategy, and improve in the future.

Qualifications, Experience and Personality

In order to qualify for this role, you are able to demonstrate or prove:

  • Experience working across the digital publishing industry, with a knowledge of the brands and content available.
  • Previous experience with digital content management.
  • Strong verbal, writing, and presenting skills.
  • Both self-motivation and team-motivation skills in abundance.
  • You’re a power user of apps/tablets/mobile/software/e-mail/social media/spreadsheets and word processors.
  • You have some experience with basic publishing tools (Acrobat, inDesign etc).
  • You have the ability to innovate and improvise as well as creating bulletproof routines and processes.
  • You’re an organized and representative self-starter who is prepared to get your hands dirty when needed.
