Now, we are looking for a Country Marketing Lead to shape the Readly marketing experience in the UK.  

Role Overview

The Country Marketing Lead will be responsible for acquiring new subscribers to our services by using a blend of analytical and creative thinking and knowledge of the most efficient marketing channels and tools in the region. Reporting to the Head of Growth the Country Marketing Lead will be instrumental in building the marketing direction of Readly. You must be as comfortable working high level as well as hands on.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve business KPIs in the UK, collaborating with Readly stakeholders and external partners and agencies as required
  • Use a deep knowledge of the local market to increase subscriber acquisition and retention, including


    • Identifying key consumer segments, content interest verticals and magazine titles to address within the market
    • Tailoring and optimizing key messaging and targeting with the campaign framework to drive acquisition in local market
    • Identifying new tactics, channels and marketing programs to reach our target consumers and the prioritized interest segments
    • Identifying opportunities to improve the end-to-end customer experience throughout the customer journey
  • Have a deep understanding and passion for magazines, and the consumers who enjoy reading the various categories of magazines, to develop compelling marketing
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and launch new multi-touch marketing programs to drive subscriber acquisition
  • Use strong analytical insights to prioritize, manage and evaluate marketing programs
  • Develop and manage marketing tests and pilots to support the introduction of innovative marketing programs, including managing rigorous evaluation in partnership with Analytics team and other stakeholders 
  • Champion the local market and its consumers with internal stakeholders, developing and sharing actionable consumer insights that help to optimize marketing activities, identify new ways to acquire customers in the market, and develop Product and Content opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and colleagues, including Analytics, other Marketing/Growth teams, Product, Content and more to help ensure every touchpoint with Readly is compelling, delights consumers and contributes to growth in the local market
  • Build brand awareness/consideration and deliver on our aggressive growth plans by driving customer acquisition through multiple channels in your region
  • Own, manage and track the brand marketing budget in your region 

Profile Overview

The Country Marketing Lead will be a well-rounded, highly impactful and collaborative leader, who brings a proven track record of success within a digital environment.

  • ~8-10 years’ experience of developing and running multi-touchpoint marketing programs, both digital and offline, to successfully drive customer acquisition
  • Experience in developing annual plans and budgets and tracking to marketing targets
  • Analytical, with experience of using performance marketing data, consumer data, finance data to optimize programs and improve go-to-market plans
  • Consumer obsessed and have a real passion for understanding what makes consumers tick and developing impactful marketing programs in the local market
  • Ideally, experience of marketing to consumers with strong interests, passions and hobbies, e.g., marketing to runners, sports lovers, car enthusiasts, frequent travelers etc.
  • Experience of working in a cross-functional environment and collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to drive growth. Also, experience of successfully leading cross-functional teams
  • Experience of managing and using qualitative and quantitative research to develop actionable insights to improve marketing
  • Exposure to a subscription service/product, and/or a digital service. Preferably, you bring some experience of working in a smaller, growth company and will therefore be suited to the pace, ambiguity and accountability
  • Strong interest and/or understanding of magazines/ publishing. You will want to have a deep understanding of the local titles available on Readly, who reads and why. Ideally experience of working with content brands (e.g., in the TV and video market or publishing), and successfully marketing content brands to their target consumers
