How you will make an impact

As a Development Manager at Readly your main responsibility is to the people you support: ensuring that they are growing as software developers, delivering value to the business and generally having a great time at Readly. This role will provide you with the opportunity to influence our team culture, helping teams learn as they deliver, partnering to drive our product strategy, and creating an environment that continuously improves our excellence in execution.

We have an exciting time ahead of us, where we both need to optimize our existing product but also identify new opportunities that will push our growth to new heights.

Key responsibilities

• Main focus is on supporting and coaching individuals, in order for them to be able to perform their tasks and adhere to the processes and standards set within Readly.

• Responsible for attracting, retaining, and developing employees in order to ensure sustainable delivery capacity in teams.

• Team building and culture as well as ensuring team visibility and recognition

• Career planning and coaching (Performance Development Dialogue talks , regular 1on1s, etc.)

• Lead and develop Readly's ways of working, where you as leader will guide, coach and promote best practices

• Keep up-to-date knowledge around tech-stack and domain, in order to participate in decisions around technical roadmap and priorities

• Facilitation of, or/and hands-on involvement in the development process (design workshops, code reviews, team planning, etc.)

• Foster good relations and ensure involvement with all employees working in Tech, Product, and Design.

• Coordinate cross-team/department work (initiatives, projects, OKRs, etc.) and ensure communication cascading.

Who we think you are

• You have at least 2 years of experience managing a software development team

• You have experience from the full lifecycle of software development, from specification to go-live

• You have a clear idea of what a team needs to be agile

• Technical innovation is one of your passions and you love to help others understand how new technology can improve their lives

• Communication is important to you and you communicate well in English, both in speech and writing

• You are structured in your work

• You are not afraid of responsibility and taking initiative to improve
