About the role

In this exciting role you will be responsible for setting the direction for Readly’s content domain, supporting our product and platform teams in creating a modern architecture that helps enable and accelerate product innovation. The responsibility stretches from fetching and handling data from publishers, through curation and discovery of content, all the way to consumption through our apps. As we are broadening our offer to focus more on more digital-first content, you will be working closely with the CTO to define and implement a scalable content architecture that supports Readly’s long-term vision. Together with our Growth Domain Architect, you will also take a broader responsibility of Readly’s software architecture direction, setting standards and enabling our Tech Leads to make the right tactical decisions. We are a strong team who needs the support of a person who has the experience and personality to take the lead on our journey towards creating a user experience that goes beyond aggregation and into personalization. 

Responsibilities

• Together with the CTO define and own Readly’s architectural vision and technology direction

• Help define the architectural governance guidelines

• Own and drive the content architecture roadmap

• Working closely with the business stakeholders to understand capability requirements

• Drive technology evaluations and deliver recommendations

• Support teams and Tech Leads in designing new systems and services, implementing architectural principles and best practices

• Survey emerging technologies that could be of interest to the organization as a whole

• Maintain in-depth knowledge and ensure shared understanding of Readly’s system architecture and technology stack

What we are looking for 

• Long experience in Software and Backend Development

• Experience from designing and building web applications

• A good understanding of and experience in the media industry and content area

• Vast experience from cloud technologies and feel comfortable setting architectural directions in an AWS-context

• An interest in translating business needs to technical solutions and driving cross-team, business-critical architectural initiatives

• Strong communication skills and are able to communicate IT-solutions and challenges in a “business-friendly” way

• A genuine interest in new technology and architectural trends, and how they can be leveraged to improve solutions and drive innovation
